Boys Hoops: Damien, Alta Loma, Glendora, Northview in semifinals of Pride of the Foothills Tournament

The Pride of the Foothills Tournament is inching closer to a dream final between Damien and Glendora, which could happen Saturday night at Glendora. First, Damien must get past Don Lugo and Glendora past Northview in Friday’s semifinals at Glendora, which are 6 and 7:30 p.m., respecitvely. Friday’s semifinal between Northview and Glendora matches the two longest tenured coaches in the San Gabriel Valley, Glendora’s Mike LeDuc and Northview’s Ron Rice.

Game Preview: Glendora High School’s Mike LeDuc and Northview’s Ron Rice are the longest-tenured boys basketball coaches in the San Gabriel Valley with over 1,300 wins between them.

Rice’s coaching career started in 1971 and LeDuc, with over 700 wins, started in the early 1980s and has won four CIF-Southern Section titles with the Tartans. The longtime coaches will meet tonight in the semifinals of the Pride of the Foothills boys basketball tournament at Glendora High School After Damien (6-1) faces Don Lugo (6-2) in the 6 p.m. semifinal, Glendora (8-1) and Northview will follow at 7:30.
