Girls Soccer: Taylor Overstreet's goal lifts Glendora to a 1-0 win over Walnut in Monday's Nutcracker Classic final

| | Comments (0) |

Walnut and Glendora met in the final of the Walnut High School Nutrcracker Girls Soccer Classic for the second straight year, with Glendora winning 1-0 on Monday night after losing in penalty kicks to Walnut a year ago. Glendora's Taylor Overstreet converted Amie Jepsen's corner kick in the 26th minute and that was the difference. Glendora improved to 6-3-3. More info from the tourney was emailed to me: Glendora beat West Covina and tied South Hills in pool play, before beating Burbank easily in the quarters (3-0). In the semis, Glendora easily handled Etiwanda 3-1. Glendora dominated possession and shots on goal in the final against Walnut but settled for the 1-0 win. Glendora will play South Hills Thursday at Covina District Field at 5 p.m.
