Why wasn’t there any soccer scores in Thursday’s paper? Not even the #1 vs #2 score.

  • Regents In the House

Congratulations Regents! Keep up the great work!!!!

There weren’t any scores in the paper because these coaches aren’t calling or emailing them to us, I’m updating the following morning based on what’s updated on Maxpreps. The Sierra League, in particular, will be hard to cover this season because all the games are at 5 or 5:30 p.m. What made it easiser to cover soccer in the past was that I could go to a 3 p.m., game then a 7 p.m., basketball game. I didn’t have to choose, now that I’m forced to choose, I’ll look for 3:15 p.m., games from other leagues on nights I have to do basketball as well. Boys basketball takes priority…So, we need the Sierra League boys and girls soccer teams to call in the results, otherwise we won’t have as much in the paper this year. The Hacienda league is the same, mostly 5 p.m., games, making it difficult to cover games.
