Charter Oak’s Jonathan Thropay, West Covina’s Chris Solomon, Bishop Amat’s Jalen Moore and Damien’s Jalen Castille have been invited to compete in the PrepStar Classic All-Star Senior football game at the Home Depot Center on January 29 at 6 p.m. The Trib foursome will compete on the CIF-South squad against the North. More Solomon: The two-time CIF champion took his first official visit to Colorado this past weekend, and gave his impressions to BuffStampede.Com.
“That was my first time going out there so seeing the campus in person was awesome. It is real nice. I didn’t think the campus was going to be as big as it is. California is nice but Colorado is beautiful with the mountains, snow, the atmosphere and everybody is so welcoming out there. My whole family fell in love with Colorado.
“I learned a lot about the campus and I learned a lot about their academics because we had a meeting with a couple of their professors and they explained to us what their academic expectations are. We had a great time. They answered every single question that I asked and every single question that my parents asked.
“We got to see the weight room and meet the weight room trainer (Malcolm Blacken) and he is awesome. He was a strength coach in the league (NFL) for 15 years and this is his second year at Colorado. I can’t wait to work with him if I go there. Every coach there is great.”
When asked if Colorado might be his choice, Solomon, recruited as a corner, responded :“We’ll see how it goes. I was supposed to go to Oregon State next week but they gave me a call and they told me that they already have three safeties committed so they are not going to take anymore. I am probably going to visit either Nevada or New Mexico State instead.”
