Girls Water Polo Pairings: Bonita and St. Lucy’s earn top seeds for playoffs

The Bonita High School girls water polo team cruised to the Hacienda League title and was on top of the Division 5 poll most of the season.

That didn’t change at Sunday’s CIF-Southern Section pairings draw with the Bearcats awarded the top seed and the only bye to the second round.
Bonita will face the winner of Wednesday’s first round game between Pasadena and Arlington in Saturday’s second round at home.

Hacienda League runner-up Los Altos will be at home in Wednesday’s first round against Riverside Notre Dame and Walnut will be on the road at Citrus Belt runner-up Yucaipa.

Sierra League champion St. Lucy’s was awarded the second seed in Division 3 and will face Tuesday’s wild-card winner between Great Oak and San Luis Obispo at home in Thursday’s first round.

Sierra League runner-up Charter Oak is home against Righetti and Ayala is hosting a wild-card game on Tuesday against Oxnard Pacifica with the winner advancing to face third-seed Arroyo Grande in Wednesday’s first round.

Glendora finished third in the Baseline and will face fourth-seed Troy in Wednesday’s Division 4 first round game.

Valle Vista league champ Wilson is home against Savanna in Thursday’s first-round in Division 7 with La Puente at fourth-seed Garden Grove.
All games are scheduled to start at 5 p.m., unless an alternate time is agreed by both schools.
