The last leg of the regular season starts today and the finish line is in sight. The Lancers have the big “Bulls Eye” securely fit over their Amat “A” and they are dodging Fastball’s, Sliders and Curves aimed at taking them down. Continue to work hard Lancers, the Playoff’s are just around the corner and everybody is gunning for the Defending Champs! I’ve seen some great hitting and great pitching out the team this year and I am not only excited for this year but NEXT YEAR is going to be RIDICULOUS!!! But that is for us fans to speculate on…you guys Stay Focused on the here and now and knock’em off one game at a time! And ya know what….That goes for ALL the SGV teams in the hunt! Good Luck Boys!!!

  • Spartans Fan

Huge week for Damien this week, two games vs South Hills, should be great games to watch!

  • Baseline

Glendora always has a respectable club and often times a exceptional one. However 6-1 in the baseline in a year where they are so young? How can a league with such good Basketball and Football teams be so poor in Baseball? This is just another reason to get Glendora back in the Sierra. Keep it going Glendora and show the IE that the San Gabriel Valley knows baseball.

  • 12th man
  • AMAT 73

Great job so far by this young Lancer team. Good showing in the classic ( 3-1 ) by a couple of the young arms on the staff. Keep up the good work and continued success. Finish off strong in league then on to the playoffs. AMAT WILL SHINE .

  • Nogales Fan

I’m happy to see the Nogales varsity baseball team getting some recognition. These boys have come far this season and their hard work and dedication are paying off. They are on a 12 game winning streak and deserve a little publicity for once.

Baseline: Your comment on Glendora football is easily explained. Some areas just dont have that many rough and tumble types that you need to play football even though the area is loaded with fine athletes. The reverse is also true. I give you West Covina who dominates in football but struggles in many other programs. Bonita save 2010 and Diamond Bar do terrific in everything but football, again same reason. It may sound simplistic but in some areas parents steer their young Johnnies away from getting clobbered on the gridiron. Win it or not when you play West Co or Muir your going to come away with huge lumps on your head and Glendora parents will ot have any of that.

  • Baseline

Reality you missunderstood the discussion point.
The post was directed at how bad the Baseline league is in baseball. Upland, Los Osos and Rancho are extremely poor baseball teams. Glendora is fine in all three sports all be it football has been a little bit of a rough go of it for us in the last several years due to coaching changes. I belive we have that problem solved and we are looking for brighter days.

  • to reality

Glendora would be a good football team if kids didn’t go to CO, Damien or Amat and such schools. The Glendora kids that go to CO and Amat go for strictly sports and the ones who stay at Glendora or Damien go there for the education.

  • Baseball Fan

The st. paul SLIME will ooooozzze into la puente today to take on the Amat Lancers @ 3:15. Come out and get a look at the youngsters from Amat.

  • Inquiring Mind

Please name the talent that has been “Poached” from glendora by Amat….Wallace Gonzalez? You guys threw him at Amat and it was good for him and glendora. Im curious about the others that go to Amat “strictly (for) sports” and chose to stay at glendora “for the education”.

  • We did it….

Baseline: It’s what they said….Upland should be having a huge year in baseball… if only all those kids had not gone to Damien, Alta Loma, Claremont…. If you go back and see how many Upland (residents) kids are top players at these other schools, you would see why Upland is not doing so great now. I feel sorry for the few great players they do have…. the tremendous responsibilty to carry their team.

  • Walnut pony

In 2006 the walnut pOny bronco allstar team made it to the world series and lost in the final.good to see that the players from that team are doing well henry omana(diamond bar), kasey kernohan(diamond bar), isaiah Locke Ramirez (diamond ranch),Cesar Carrillo(diamond ranch),Adrian Guzman (Nogales),Albert lemus (Nogales),kolby oriti,cOnlon Mackenzie ,Caleb romo(walnut), Jason espin (riverside poly),dc bentacourt ?(I think he is at amat). This team went 24-2 that summer.

  • Fired

    Loreanger is fired!

  • Fired?

Fired?? Seriously? The team is playing much better this year than last with a dropoff in pitching. Honestly, there are only 2 or 3 on that squad who could go start for any of the top 10 teams in the valley. They are playing with some confidence now and beating some teams they haven’t beaten in a couple years. After 1 round they are sitting in 3rd place. Last year they were 6th, and you want him fired?

  • Ball Fore

Great job Amat young bats scoring 23 runs in the last two games. Keep it up!!

  • dbhs

DB lost today. Gave up 10 runs.

  • montview

Today 3:15 La Puente (6-0) Vs Sierra Vista (5-1) play at La Puente High, Lp wins they win it all , lose and championship game on Friday,

  • Easy Schedule

It is very evident that when Amat plays lower competition (D4, D13, or whatever lower division it is they now play) they win, but stack’em up against some real teams in the valley and they get slapped around. I mean SMOKED! Amat has no talent, Its just the competition they are now facing is More Awful than they Amat is. I’m not hating on these kids, but they just don’t belong!

    Just sayin’

  • Valley guy

@easy schedule.amat was 3-1 in the national classic .south hills left the valley and got spanked by sub par teams .bonita has not played anybody good ,palm desert will be a test but I doubt that both teams will play there aces..palm deserts brooks kriske from palm desert would be there first top pitcher they face if he plays .the Sierra league has the toughest playoff division .

  • Valley Baseball Observer

easy schedule-You are OBVIOUSLY not a baseball fan and OBVIOUSLY, you’re looking for attention and again just as OBVIOUS is your lack of knowledge on the subject. Try to stay away from the OBVIOUS and give me some insight on the weak teams Amat has faced “outside of their league schedule”? Also, give me a break down of the games in which Amat was “SMOKED” by their competition? I’m pretty sure that the only thing “SMOKED” by anybody was the Hooch you shoved in your bong pipe before you wrote that dumb azz blurb on the blog. Moke another Dude and if you really need the attention that bad, dye your hair blue and tack a couple of hoop earrings in your grill. Works for other attention starved KIDS in the valley!

  • Easy Schedule

Ahh, did I hurt your little lancer feelings? Ahhh!

Observer, here is your “break down” of the games in which Amat was “SMOKED” by their competition
    03/01 Mater Dei – Score 5 – 4 Loss
    03/03 Huntington Beach – Score 3 – 2 Loss
    03/07 JSerra Catholic Score 3 – 1 Loss
    03/10 Capistrano Valley Score 12 – 5 SMOKED!
    03/14 Chatsworth – Score 8 – 2 SMOKED!
    04/05 Los Alamitos – Score 11 – 10 Loss
    04/10 Esperanza National Classic Score 3 – 1 SMOKED!

Observer, go ahead and “Moke another Dude”! Whatever that means! Hah you’re so stupid you can’t even type, you dumb azz

Like I said I’m not hating on these kids, but they just don’t belong!

    Just sayin’

  • V.B.O.

HA! HAAA! HAAAA! Okay, I get it now. You don’t really get the concept or meaning of using “SMOKED” when referencing a baseball game or maybe it’s an ESL problem?) eitherway, I oe see the full picture here. The losses or “Smoked” games are conceded here my friend, losses to very good teams I might add, so I won’t fight you there, although, Chatsworth exploded for 7 runs in one “bad” inning for the Lancers but scored only 1 run over the next FIVE innings. Capo Valley just wasn’t our day and yes the proper usage of the word “Smoked” would apply. Other than that, you really don’t have a clue as to what you’re talking about. I will officially add your name to that Loooooong List of “Amat Haters”. You are also in the minority of those Haters too buddy boy. Most say that Amat should be moved out of the lower levels and put back into D-I? You say the opposite? Again, it just proves how truly lost you are. BTW let me bring you up to speed on the american street venacular regarding “(S)Moke another Dude”. It’s a Hippie/Skateboarder/Stoner reference to the marijuana you must have been smoking while blogging. School is out Clown! I didn’t realize I was dealing with a person of such…….limited capabilities.
