When Gabrielino High School’s Angel Acosta gets going on the mound there’s almost no stopping him.
But when the senior right-hander gets going at the plate, too, well, that’s just asking for trouble.
Acosta pitched his third no-hitter of the season, struck out 10and drove in two runs to lead host Gabrielino to an 8-0 victory over South El Monte on Wednesday afternoon in Mission Valley League play.
Gabrielino (9-7, 7-1) extends its league lead to two games over South El Monte (5-7, 5-3), which had only itself to blame after imploding in the third inning with several miscues and an error.
