Thursday’s Baseball/Softball Roundup; Alta Loma beats Glendora to draw even in Baseline League baseball race

BASEBALL RESULTS
BASELINE LEAGUE
Alta Loma 7, Glendora 3
Alta Loma took the rubber game of the series with Glendora to move back into a first-place tie with the Tartans in league play.
Glendora took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third on an RBI double by Martin Gallegos. Tartans starting pitcher Kale Morton cruised through the first three innings but got into trouble in the fourth. A hit batter, walk and bunt single loaded the bases for the Braves as Justin Taylor hit a bases-clearing double to put the Braves up 3-1.
Glendora came back to tie the game in the top half of the fifth on DJ Peters’ two-run single.
Alta Loma regained the lead for good with two runs in the fifth and sixth innings, which was good enough for Braves pitcher Nolan Sheridan, who recorded 10 strikeouts in a complete game.

HACIENDA LEAGUE
Bonita 10, Diamond Ranch 1
The Bearcats (19-1, 7-0) routed the Panthers as Justin Garza improved to 6-1 by throwing five shutouts innings and striking out four. Offensively, the Bearcats were led by Nolan Henley who hit a grand slam in the fourth inning to break the game open.
Jake Blunt and Anthony Gonzalez each added two RBIs.

SOFTBALL
DEL REY LEAGUE
Bishop Amat 5, St. Joseph 1
Sabrina Anguiano recorded the win for the Lancers (14-3, 7-0). She pitched a complete game and allowed three hits and struck out four for her 12th victory of the season.
Brandy Galaviv of Bishop Amat hit a two-run double. Alexis Gonzalez contributed with an RBI double. St. Joseph fell to 13-4 overall and 3-4 in league. DEL RIO LEAGUE

HACIENDA LEAGUE

Los Altos 10, Walnut 1
Jennifer Solis pitched a one-hitter, striking out 13 and walking three, and Los Altos (14-6, 5-1) had a strong offensive showing with 13 hits against Walnut (6-12, 0-6).
Leading the Conquerors was Alyssa Villapando, who went 4for4 with three doubles and four RBIs. Mariah Midyette and Dana Chavez each finished with one triple.

Bonita 11, Diamond Ranch 2
The Bearcats came out quickly, scoring four runs in the first inning and never looking back in a rout of Diamond Ranch. Leading Bonita was Jazzlyn Costa with a three-run home run, while Corrinna Liscano added a double and Liza Liddell had a triple.
Bonita got a solid pitching performance from Bianca Cockrell, who allowed one hit while recording the win. Anissa Sanchez came on in relief to face 10 batters and gave up no hits while striking out three. Bonita improved to 5-1 in league play.

MONTVIEW LEAGUE
La Puente 16, Workman 5
Linda Camacho allowed eight hits and improved to 3-3 on the season with Reyna Barba tossing an inning in relief as the Warriors scattered a total of 10 hits for the win.
Christine Lopez went 3 for 5 with a triple and three RBIs and Elisa Valenzuela went 2for4 with a home run. La Puente improved to 5-9 overall, 4-4 in league.

VALLE VISTA
San Dimas 15, Wilson 0
Bethie Ceeya (10-5) went the distance for the Saints, recording five strikeouts and allowing four hits. San Dimas (13-7, 5-1) scored early and often with four in the first inning alone. Karissa Conner went 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs and Janell Wheaton contributed to the offense with a 3-for-3 performance with a double and two RBIs. Ashley Vinsorhaler went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.
The Wildcats dropped to 4-14 overall and 1-5 in league play.
