The Saints (19-7, 10-1) lead Covina by one game and will try to avenge their only league loss when they host the Colts next Thursday in the final game of the season.
“That was a great win for us,” Saints coach Don Pollard said. “It is always a heck of a battle over here. Bethie pitched really well today. Her defense failed her a little in the first inning, but she got back up and didn’t let it bother her. Covina comes to us next week and we’re going to give it a good shot.”
The Vikings (16-9, 9-2) had runners on base in each of the first six innings, but Celaya kept them at bay to complete the season sweep by the Saints.
