The countdown is on, two weeks to football

I know it seems like a long time since this blog had daily topics, but that’s about to change. We’ve finished the 100-plus PrepXtra Magazine, which will be in Home Delivery and Newstands on Thursday, Aug. 23, just in time for the Smudge Pot later that evening with San Dimas at Bonita. Start checking your newspapers and the blogs for stories and video’s, we plan on visiting a few camps each day leading up to next week’s opening games. Any team in particular you want to hear about?

You got to start with both defending champs Fred!Send Aram on some ambushes!

  • GP-

San Dimas at Bonita, – This game is big for both schools, San Dimas wants to send out the message they are going to a force in the Midvalley. Bonita wants to show the Southeast, that they are a formidable opponent to be reckoned with. Huge crowds, and a great atmosphere for a kick off game.

Servite at Bishop Amat- The Big Enchilada for week one. Bishop is Hoping to gauge their Serra and Pac 5 readiness. However the next 4 games would be considered “Murderers Row” by most teams. Servite is once again fighting for a pac 5 and state title, and Bishop Amat is in the way. Expect a hard fought game

West Covina vs. Covina at Covina District Stadium-This game is supposed to be David vs Goliath. However Covina is 1-1 vs West Co. Expect the Colts to play well. They believe they can win.

Ayala at Diamond Bar, 7:00pm-Big game for Ayala leading up to showdown with Monrovia. DBAR wants to prove they are a playoff team. What better way then beating a inland school. Expect these two to play well.

Diamond Ranch vs. Chino at Ganesha, 7:00pm
DR expects a big year. They need all the wins they can get to tune up for league, WestCo and Southeast playoffs. Chino is a upper division school. They do not want to lose to a lower division school.

I’ve been hearing about Alhambra High school a bit, are they for real? I know about there RB/DB Brodus, but I’ve been hearin about this WR/DB Espinosa alot from JC coaches and a very respectable Trainer by the name of Keith Johnson (North Star Sports)He states that this Kid is the real deal he’s a 16 year old senor 6′ 170 runs the 40 in 4.6 and he’s shuttle was clocked at a 4.1. But in passing tournaments he’s been killing it at both sides of the ball… I just want you guys to see whats up! i wouldnt want a kid to be over looked!!!! BY THE MONROVIA BOYS…

  • GP-

Mtown is not overlooking Alhambra, but we have one 2 year All CIF Corner, one of two Sr DB’s who run 4.5′s and a soph WR/DB who possibly runs a 4.4. I think they should be able to keep up. I have heard Alhambra is going to be tough.

  • Wilson Dude

Bosco Tech’s new field isn’t going to be ready for week 0, so Wilson will be at home for that game.

  • Rockcityl

I just left the Alhambra’s practice and all Im going to say is Espinosa is the real deal, this kid was shreading Brodus on man to man drills. On defense he was laying some mean wood at the safety spot…Keep a look out for Espinosa… He should of been in your pre season all area team…

  • Rockcity

I just left Alhambra’s practice and Espinosa is the real deal on both sides of the ball. He was shreading Ezra Brodus and apprently thats there best DB, on defense he has an excellent nose for the ball from that Safety spot. Oh he can lay some wood as well… This kid should of been in your pre season all area Team.
