Tribskin Pick’em: Your picks and ours

For the second straight year Aram and I will go head-to-head in Tribskin Pick’em throughout the season for our annual dinner bet. Aram won by one stinking game last season and I want payback. That’s right, football is finally here with this week’s picks.
Last Week: Robledo (0-0); Tolegian (0-0).
Season: Tolegian (0-0); Tolegian (0-0).

Check out San Dimas’ new football field from Friday’s scrimmage vs. Diamond Ranch

This week: Week 0 is the easiest to screw up because there are so many uncertainties and unknowns, but as usual, we get most of these right. Thursday’s Smudge Pot is a toss-up, but after losing two straight and returning seven starters on defense and an offense that usually figures ways to score, I like San Dimas to reclaim the trophy over Bonita in a close game Thursday. Fox Sports West is airing West Covina-Covina live on Friday, which is great for only one team, West Covina, who I like by three touchdowns and wouldn’t be surprised if they’re up three at halftime. Bishop Amat is usually good for at least one step-up win per season, but not this week against Servite. Not only did Servite smoke Amat last year, if you watched it wasn’t that close. There are changes to both personnel, but seriously, how much difference could a year make? Take Servite. Arroyo and Los Altos might be the most interesting. I always thought if you take QB Steven Rivera away from Arroyo the Knights are a 2-8 or 3-7 team. You’ll find out why I thought that on Friday, take Los Altos. There were many other tough calls, like Rowland over Nogales, Colony over South Hills, Ayala over Diamond Bar and Northview over Ontario, but hey, it’s the first week, lets see how you do? I’ll post Aram’s picks this afternoon.

  • Should of Could of

You guys should have made the “pick em” an interactive contest with your Trib readers. End of the year winner goes to dinner with you and Aram.

  • bigdog

Who wants to watch Aram eat a burrito!!!!!!!!

  • White Fang

Fred, I have no idea what game you watched last year, the game was close between Bishop Amat and Servite for three quarters. The db’s let Amat’s offense and defense down. all it took was for some long passes to break the game open.
Servite has nothing to worry about, this is why Servite’s head coach made it a point, he would be there with his camera. To make sure he wouldn’t miss anything, he brought his side kick along with a second camera. I’m almost sure he will leave the footage home and not share the info with his coaches and players.

  • Fred Robledo

Go back and look at the game, Servite moved with ease, big chunks of yardage all night long. I think they called off the dogs in the fourth quarter.

  • Are you serious?!

White Fang. Are you freakin’ serious?! The dbs?! You’re putting that loss on the dbs?! BA’s offense couldn’t sustain a drive. Back to back to back to back three and outs! Dude, take off your blue and gold tinted shades. You sound ridiculous. 35-14 at the start of the 4th is NOT close.

Should of Could of. It’s actually “should HAVE could HAVE”. “Should OF could OF” doesn’t make any sense. That’s just poor grammar.

  • AyalaBulldogFan

Ayala vs Diamond Bar is going to be a good game I think, offensively Ayala looks very sound, they have a lot of skill and look to put at least 200 yards or more of offense, defensively they are better then last year without a doubt, but they will give up a couple tds a game, so they will have to look for help with the offense, Dbar has weapons in snoop doggs son and nephew, they look real good and so does the rb he hits the hole hard and has nice cuts, those three are the weapons for Dbar, I look to see the game very hard fought but Ayala coming on pulling way 28-14 with a W.. Ayala has to get ready for Monrovia week 2, that’ll be the big game for them

  • Saw the Saints

Not a Saint but went to the DR scrimmage and they looked very good. I think they get the young Bearcats this year.

  • Can’t Wait

Can’t wait for the West Co a55 whopping of South Hills.

I predict an overwhelming and humiliating loss for the Lanceritos against the Servite Black Friars.

    Final Score: Servite 42. – Lanceritos 3

The truth…maybe cause its all a lie ?
Vegas(AKA, NON-SENSE), you probably seen it all wrong because I know for a fact, 73 got his money down on Amat.
But then again, that what happens when you get a few to many in ya all at once eh ?
Kinda hard to see the road after a while eh.
BTW, tell 73 to put a few dollars down for me too.
