Glendora without RB Cade Lindsey for tomorrow’s Mayor’s Trophy game against Charter Oak

Glendora coach Jerry Lewallen was forthcoming enough to let us know that running back Cade Lindsey, who rushed for 315 yards and three touchdowns a couple weeks ago in a win over Colony and is averaging 121 yards, will not be available against Charter Oak Thursday because of an injury.

  • Big blow to the Tartans

This is a big blow to the Tartans offense as Cade sustained a concussion in the Ayala game. For the record Cade is averaging over 160 yards a game and as team they are averaging 298 yards on the ground. Hopefully Amin Raad, who had 215 yards in the opener against Claremont, is back at full health and able to pound the rock. Glendora needs to establish the ground game against CO to have any chance at taking back the Mayors Trophy from the Chargers.

  • That Sucks

He took an awful BIG hit on freak play #2 near the end of the game last Friday and was REAL slow to get up.

Ayala’s #22 fumbled, Glendora’s #29 picked it up near the middle of the end-zone and took off running. He made a clean getaway from a couple Bulldogs. He’s picking up speed around the 1-2 yardline visitor’s side hash and he’s just about at full speed maybe another yard from turning the corner to take it to the house. Just then, a Bulldog was able to get hold of a shoe string or something, just enough to trip him up so he is on the way down. There was somebody coming full speed the opposite direction. I was sitting near the 50 and it happened pretty fast. He was face down for a bit.

After what seemed like an eternity, he was sitting up trying to take his helmet off.

    That’s what I saw.

Landslide win for charter bloke with a handful of recruits to boot for next year.

Not having Lindsay against C.O. is a really big loss for Glendora. He plays on both sides of the ball and is probably Glendora’s best all around player. The Tartans will need to play near error free football in this one to have a shot.

First off they get Amat’s best played booted for the 2nd half for CO instigating him to fight in that game. Now, they play Glendora without their best player tonight. Then to top it off, they play Los Osos next week who will be without their started QB who was ejected last game (they have a bye this week so he will miss next week’s game) If they don’t hammer these to teams without their best players, they better be happy with 2nd or 3rd place in the Sierra league.
