Girls Volleyball Rankings: OK, St. Lucy’s is No. 1 again, but Ayala next on Thursday

TRIBUNE TOP 10
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL RANKINGS

1. St. Lucy’s (7-5) — Despite its five losses in the Durango tournament, you can’t ignore the fact the Regents beat rival La Salle in a rematch of last year’s 2A championship and is still the best.
2. Chino Hills (6-2) — Beat Rancho Cucamonga in five sets, but lost two previous.
3. Ayala (5-2) — Loss to JSerra but the real match is on Thursday at St. Lucy’s in the Sierra League opener.
4. Bishop Amat (5-1) — You will know how good Bishop Amat really is in league against La Salle and St. Joseph. For now, they’re racking up wins.
5. Northview (10-2) — Winners of 10 straight, the train keeps on moving.
6. Claremont (3-2) — Wolfpack notch nice wins over Atla Loma and Etiwanda. The Sierra is ridiculous again.
7. San Dimas (3-1) — San Dimas is sitting back watching Northview rack up the victories. But who wins when they meet on Oct. 5?
8. Gladstone (9-2) — Already 3-0 in the Montview League, they might not lose again until the playoffs.
9. Rosemead (6-2) — Still far and away the Mission Valley League favorites.
10. South Hills (5-3) — Win over Walnut, Bonita and Monrovia are nice, but how will they fare in the Sierra?
