Super 35 Rankings: Bishop Amat averaging 30+ to stay No. 1; Gladstone checks in at No. 10

Back in top ten: Gladstone returns to the Tribune’s top ten for the first time in a long time.

SAN GABRIEL VALLEY TRIBUNE’S SUPER 35 RANKINGS

1. Bishop Amat (4-0-1) — The offense has scored 30 or more every game and is fun to watch again. If the defense catches up, they could be a force in the Serra League, where everyone has a winning record.
2. Chino Hills (3-1-1) — Still looks like the Sierra League favorites with a huge win at Great Oak and has a week off before heading to Charter Oak for the league opener.
3. Ayala (4-0) – They’ve undefeated against formidable opponents, but now they get undefeated Kaiser before the Sierra League starts.
4. Charter Oak (3-1) — Chargers answered loss to Bishop Amat like great teams should, routing neighboring Glendora. Now it’s time for another step-up at Los Osos. Can they handle it?
5. Damien (2-1) — The Spartans continue to remind area fans they’re still a force to be dealt with. If they get a win at Los Alamitos like Charter Oak did a few weeks ago, they’ll prove they’re ready for the Sierra.
6. *West Covina (2-3) — Even injured, the Bulldogs are still better than the rest ranked below, showing it again at Diamond Ranch, winning 21-14.
7. South Hills (3-1) — You have to give them credit for already matching last year’s win total on a team few expected anything from.
8. San Dimas (4-1) — You can mark down 9-1 right now because the Saints won’t lose again. They’re simply too good for the Valle Vista.
9. Glendora (2-2) — After its mighty 2-0 start, Ayala and Charter Oak have sent them back to earth.
10. Gladstone (4-0) – When was the last time the Gladiators were ranked in the top ten poll? Hope this isn’t a jinx.

    Gladstone at 4-0 and winning teams from other leagues, but the biggest upset and your not hearing to much about is LA PUENTE winning Arroyo and Wilson and that’s not to bad!!!

    Its okay that Fred has ranked Ayala over CO. Just look at the ratings of the teams Ayala played compared to CO. Every week CO has played a better/stronger opponent than Ayala but we CO gets dropped because it lost to the #1 team on the poll. He might as well have had Gladstone at #4 since they are still unbeaten.

We have a game coming up and you should really be concerned with Norco seeing as you can’t get past those Inland teams this season can’t you .And really , who have you beat this season anyway , Pasadena , Muir , JW North , and the first game against a legit team CC you lose , so what’s all your barking about anyway ?????     Kaiser will not be a test. Sure, they are 4-0 like you but their schedule has been MUCH worse than yours. They have not played a team that is above .500 yet, and only 1 opponent that is ranked in the top 500 in the state. Kaiser used to be legit. They have slowly declined.

    Fred and Aram don’t get the whole strength of schedule thing…lol. They wonder why Boise st is never in contention for the national championship game. CIF has Chino Hills ranked #5 in the inland division with their 4-1-1 record. Why? because their loss was to #8 in the state Tesoro (by 10 pts) and tied #10 in the state Amat. They are ranked ahead of 3-1 Charter Oak, 3-1 Norco, 3-1 Chaparral & 5-0 Murrieta Valley……Strength of schedule matters!

    Azusa Pride is correct. It has been a good year for the Montview League. They have performed well against other local leagues.

    On a side note, perhaps, someone at the SGV Tribune can explain this to me. The Montview League was moved out the Mid-Valley Division this year to the Northwest Division. The Northwest Division, however, is division X and the Mid-Valley is division XI. I thought that the Montview League got moved down; because, they could not compete. Yet, it appears that they actually got moved up a division. Is that correct?

    “Eventually” someday alemany might have a winning record against some of the top programs in the Pac5. Until then, on Oct. 13th you’ll either be 15-3 or 14-4 vs Amat.

When you thought they had your warriors above AMAT they were dependable but since someone pointed out to you they have AMAT above your team they are all wrong. Do you really think Cal Preps or CIF base their rankings on viewing games ??? You are leaving little doubt on your mental capacity with every post you enter. To answer all your questions yes you are ranked higher ( except on Max Preps ) and have beat us the last time we played but that will be up for renewal in 3 weeks . What is really a shame is that we have a flake like you repping Alemany who in turn reps the Serra as defending champ . It’s no wonder the Serra is losing respect as a top league with people like you spewing on the blog. By the way you are defintely not the king of the division (PAC 5 ) as you wrote .
