Hope you guys give a montview league prediction yea were not the best division but show us some kind of love the montview has great athletes and players and we would love some attention like the big leagues..

  • Fowler who?

Remind Fowl-up that Claremont still resides in his jurisdiction. Fred covers Claremont much more than the Bulletin because of the Sierra League connection. Fowler ignores Claremont even when they win CIF Championships (Boy’s Soccer, Girl’s Soccer). Thanks Fred for your coverage!

  • Kick ball? We’re really talking kick ball in here???

Please tell me somebody didn’t just bring up kickball in here.

  • Fred Robledo

Fowler’s a good dude, we help each other on the Sierra and Valle Vista. He has other core leagues to focus on like we do at the Tribune. It’s all about sharing.

Will Amat win the Pac5??? I do believe Amat has a chance of making some noise this year..This will perhaps be the year that BA will have any chance of getting close or even making the Semi-Finals..Usually there are about 7-9 teams with better chances or ahead of Amat in terms of winning it all..This year you could narrow it down to perhaps 3-5 teams with better chances..(Tesoro,Mission Viejo,St.John Bosco,Alemany)But just like in any other sports..You never know what mite happen..If Amat tweeks the Defense a bit..Some of these other teams sustain a key injury & Amat makes the playoffs with a good seeding & draw..You just never know~ One thing for sure is Amat is looking & sitting a lot better than they were exactly one year ago…One key stat that will be vital in the Serra League will be “Turnovers” so far Haynes has done an amazing job with the ball & not coughing it up or throwing any picks…That’s exactly what you have to do if you want to be successful in the Pac5..The team left standing at the end will usually have a QB who is a dual threat & can change the game at any time..The last three years the pac5 has been dominated by QB’s & their decision making (Johnny Stanton,Cody Pittman,Cody Fajaro) this year will be no different..Will Haynes rise to the occasion & make a name for himself in the Pac5???

I think you missed a few teams with better odds at making deep playoff runs then Amat. Mater Dei, Santa Margarita, El Toro, St. Bonnies are 4 teams that are all better then Amat in addition to the 4 teams you mentioned, I’m also not sold on the fact that Amat is better then OLu. Just an FYI to you, Amat is only a half game better at this point in the season then they were last year.

  • Fred Robledo

Um, the Serra League preview is next week, lol

  • 12th man

    Don’t jump the gun,
I’ll give you St.Bonnies,& perhaps Mater Dei,But I don’t believe El Toro is stronger at this point..& Santa Margarita is done without “Stanton”..

When i was comparing last year’s team to this year..I wasn’t talking about records..I meant they are an overall better team than they were last year in terms of- unity, playing a tougher schedule, turnover ratio (giveaways/takeaways) play calling, & QB perfomance which is key in the pac5..

Haynes will be tested vs Alemany..This should be his best night to shine..I expect him to throw about 30-40 passes that night..He will need about 300 yards or better to outscore the Alemany offense…Hopefully they can establish the run game & win the battle on the time of possession this way they can keep the Warrior offense off the field…I just don’t see the Amat defense stopping Alemany..But guess what? In order for Amat to win they don’t have to stop the Alemany offense..They just need to slow it down & keep themselves in the game until the 4th quarter..This game will either be a barn burner 42-38 or someone winning it on a last drive field goal 31-28 or 24-21

    @ 12th Man,

I have to respectfully disagree. IMO you cannot count out SM. Are they a lesser team without Stanton? Sure the kid’s a beast and the best QB in So Cal, maybe the nation (kid at Jordan in Utah was pretty darn good too). Are they still a contender? Yes. Anyone who’s seen them play in recent years knows that their OL is huge and very athletic. Their defense is fast, stingy, covers very well sideline to sideline, and brings the wood. Defense and line play wins games. A great QB works too, but the others can also carry a team. All that said, you know what team I think will take it. Good luck and good health to all.

  • 12th man

    Brave dad,
You bring up some good valid reasons & I do believe Santa Margarita will be effective up to some point..I just don’t see how a team can win vs quality opponents when there best player who accounted for more than 75%-85% of their scoring can be dominate..Only time will tell..Who knows maybe there’s a star ready to be born at SM…Good thing about the Pac5 is that there won’t be any clear cut favorites throughout the division or the playoffs until the final week..Also there are a few teams who have an equal chance as Amat to upset the teams in front of them..(Crespi,Notre Dame,Orange Lutheran,Oaks Christian) Loyola has a good team..I just don’t see them being a deep threat due to their one dimensional offense..”Eventually” you need to pass in the pac5..

  • BraveDad

    @ 12 Man,

Cool; good point about the load Stanton carried for the team. That said, please do not use OLu and the word “upset” in the same sentance this week. After this week, cool – but not this week brother! LOL!

  • DAVID DUVALL

THIS BONITA TEAM HAS 6 STARTERS OUT WITH INJURIES AND THEY JUST KEEP ROLLING. THEY JUST LOST PITTS FRIDAY ALSO WITH CRACK RIBS. THIS NO HUDDLE THEY RUN IS SOMETHING SPECIAL TO WATCH. ONLY IF THEY COULD GET THERE PLAYERS HEALTHY WOULD I GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO GO DEEP INTO THE PLAYOFFS. BUT GIVE THIS COACHING STAFF CREDIT. THIS OFFENCE IS MOVING ON ALL CYCLINDERS.

  • david duvall

has anybody seen this bonita freshman team. they are destroying everybody they play by at least 30 points a game. they got a left handed QB thats going to be something special in a couple of years. the future looks bright for bonita

  • Mustangs

@david . They beat walnut by 21 points I think. They where big and the qb was good .
