With the country glued to their television sets awaiting the outcome of Tuesday’s presidential election, the CIF-Southern Section decided it’s a good night for the first round of the CIF-Southern Section girls volleyball playoffs. Even worse, they all start at 7 p.m., when all the blue and red states are being posted. What should be an educational experience for high school kids while allowing parents and fans of volleyball more time to vote is CIF not thinking this through. Not a good night to charge admission if making money is part of the goal. Also, the girls tennis team finals are on Friday, the same night as the opening round of the football playoffs. For tennis fans starving for news coverage, having the finals on Football Friday is no bueno.
