In the opener for both teams, Rowland was led by Joe Dioniso with 17 points, five steals and four rebounds, and Saeed Montoya added 14 points and four rebounds. Chris Arzadan added five points and six assists for the Raiders (1-0).

The Highlanders (1-0) easily disposed of the Conquerors behind the scoring of Allison O’Brien with 22 points and Megan Chancellor chipping in with 10 points. Also scoring for La Habra were Amy Wilbourn and Cyrena Gonzalez, each with eight points. With the loss Los Altos drops to 0-1.
South Hills 57, La Mirada 31
The Huskies (1-0) put away the Matadores (0-1) in the first half leading 29-19 and never looked back behind the scoring of Imani Payton with 18 points and Sarah Madrigal contributing with 10 points. Brittany Wang scored nine points, Abry Moreno 8 and Kasey Murakami had six. Cherrelle Jimenez, Samantha Perez and Natalie Veal had two points each. La Mirada got their scoring from Alexandria Vanzulen with 11 points, Danielle Ashley scored 10 points and Madison Magil chipped in with seven points. Tiane Luatua contributed with two points and Vanessa Calzada had one to round out the scoring for La Mirada.
