Girls Basketball rankings: Amat and Bonita meet to settle No. 1 debate

Above: What is reigning player of the year Nikki Wheatley averaging for Bonita? Who knows, that requires teams to post stats. But we know she’s averaging a lot.

Girls Basketball rankings
1. Bishop Amat (16-4) – Still only 1-2 in Del Rey, but best in these parts.
2. Bonita (16-4) — Undefeated in Hacienda, will take on Amat in Saturday showcase at APU at Noon.
3. Duarte (16-0) — Undefeated record on the line Friday in showdown at Workman.
4. Workman (15-4) — Even though Duarte is undefeated, Workman is ranked higher on Maxpreps.
5. Diamond Ranch (14-5) — Always dangerous because it is always well coached
6. Ayala (12-7) — Bulldogs beat South Hills to take over first in the Sierra
7. Wilson (12-6) — Too bad there is no competition to test the Wildcats in the Valle Vista.
8. Chino Hills (11-7) — Always solid, though not as solid as the boys team.
9. Rosemead (13-6) — Keeps on trucking in the Mission Valley.
10. Glendora (14-6) — Solid 2-2 in the tough Baseline. Not bad at all
