There weren’t too many surprises when the CIF-Southern Section released its boys basketball pairings Sunday. Damien, as most expected received the No. 2 seed in Division 3AA. But a highlight was Northview, not only earning an at-large bid, but a No. 15 seed in 3A, meaning Valley legend Ron Rice’s career is not over yet. The Vikings will open the playoffs with a long trip to Burroughs, of Ridgecrest, with the possiblity of meeting No. 1 seed St. John Bosco in the second round.
