Girls Basketball: Diamond Ranch takes care of Rosemead 50-33; Bishop Amat, Bonita, Glendora, Wilson advance

Diamond Ranch 50, Rosemead 33: Tai Lark scored a team-high 16 points and Lauren Graves added 12 for Diamond Ranch in its second-round victory over Rosemead, which had to play without three-time Mission Valley League MVP Melody Gauthier, who broke her hand in the final week of the season after averaging 23 points. Rosemead didn’t look intimidated early, racing to a 9-1 lead and getting a game-high 20 points from Sydney Hua and nine points from Lauren Diep, but Diamond Ranch was too physical and improved to 21-7 to move on to the quarterfinals. Diamond Ranch played without head coach Mike James, who was unavailable due to a death in the family. Rosemead finishes the season 20-7.
