Arroyo comes up short in Division 7 girls soccer final, loses to Marshall, 2-0 Posted on March 1, 2013 by Fred Robledo Arroyo-Marshall girls soccer photo gallery Arroyo’s dream season ends in defeat: There has been no sense of urgency for the Marshall High School girls soccer team during this CIF-Southern Section playoff run. The Eagles seemed to let Arroyo dominate the first half of Friday night’s CIF-SS Division 7 championship game at Warren High in Downey. But like Marshall has done throughout the playoffs, it sprang into action in the second half. The Eagles scored two second-half goals to defeat the Knights, 2-0. “We don’t put our heads down,” sophomore defender Cassandra Bermudez said. “During our halftime gathering, coach inspires us a lot and tells us to not quit. We don’t and we keep our heads up.”
