Breaking News: Proposal H won after heated discussions at Monday’s Mt. SAC re-league meeting that starts for the 2014-15 sports season. The big winner is Charter Oak, which moves from to the Sierra to the Hacienda League. Prop H granted some relief for Glendora, which moves from the Baseline to the Sierra while Chino Hills leaves the Sierra for the Baseline. Bonita, South Hills and Diamond Bar may not like the move to the Sierra, but without Damien, Chino Hills (and Charter Oak in football), it’s not that bad of a league. In fact it looks fair. The big question becomes, will the Sierra stay in the Inland Division for football? Probably not, at the end of the day, look for the Sierra to get relief in football. Big loser is Rowland, which was hoping to get relief from the Hacienda to the Valle Vista. Leaving Rowland in the Hacienda is a lose-lose all the way around. Another big loser is Chino Hills and Ayala, which will find it much tougher in all sports in the Baseline. Baldwin Park also must stay in the Valle Vista after pleading to move to the Montview and thank goodness, Edgewood is back in 2014. What are your thoughts on how it all went down?

      I agree 74, “A” makes a lot of sense.

      • Colt74

Makes too much sense. Probably why they shot it down. In other news Covina-WC no more. Covina to play South Hills and San Gabriel in preseason for the next 4.

Did i read correct in the Glendora’s request for relief that its Girls volleyball has never been to playoffs??.That a blatant lie!!!! Wtf is going on with some of these schools?? Charter Oaks info is not even posted!

  • http://www.facebook.com/ptyrone Patrick Tyrone

Sorry , but im not buying Glendora’s plea! I can buy into C.O before i could Glendora!

    • Aaron

Now why would you do that? CO has success in the Inland whereas Glendora has gotten thumped.

      • http://www.facebook.com/ptyrone Patrick Tyrone

football,basketball,baseball…..need I say more Aaron?? I haven’t seenGlendora struggle at all in the sports that matter!

        • Aaron

Are you being facetious or are you just stupid?

        • Jimmy the Greek

Glendora has only won 3 league games in football over the past 3 years and each one of those victories was vs. Alta Loma.

  • scott schumm

Its just good to see Edgewood on the board again. Really, it should be H.

  • bossman

Big winners….Glendora (just happy to be out of Baseline), Charter Oak (WOW they competed in the Sierra and get to step down and will dominate), Bonita has to be happy that they can at least compete, Alta Loma (happy to play anyone other than the Baseline) , Valley Vista Teams….(everyone is equal and they all stay put)

Big losers……… Rowland and Walnut (NO LOVE….Should be added to Valley Vista or Montview.

  • Jastrab

Los Osos may be a bit of a loser in Football as that league will be very good top to bottom…may not make much noise (outside of Upland) in the Inland, but you just removed two poorly performing football schools and upgraded them…Ayala is on the rise and CH is as better than everyone but Upland.

    • Jimmy the Greek

Don’t count out Rancho in football, they are absolutely loaded with talent. The talent level at Rancho is at the very least equal to that of Upland and probably is superior to CH.

What leagues will Damian and St. Lucy’s be in.?

    • http://twitter.com/SGVNSports Fred J. Robledo

Damien and St. Lucy’s will be in the Catholic Athletic Association

      • LoveBajaMalibu

When will we find out what league.? Currently BA is in three different leagues for both boys and girls depending on the sport.

        • http://twitter.com/JoeAmat Joe Amat

In other sports I’m assuming Damien/St Lucy will be in the Camino Del Rey Association made up of the Camino Real League and the Del Rey League. the Del Rey has had 5 teams, so the addition of Damien making it 6 makes sense. The Camino Del Rey adjusts every 2 years by promoting the top team from the Camino Real and relegating the bottom team in the Del Rey…in each sport – boys & girls. That’s why schools are in multiple leagues. Add in the football only Serra League and they just may be in 3 different “leagues” too. But just one conference.

          • LoveBajaMalibu

Joe, thanks, good explanation. Didn’t know that’s how it worked. Will mean much more travel for Damien and SL, compared to what they do now in the Sierra. Probably their biggest objection in moving to the Catholic AA.

    • Kurt Stone

Damian was put into a Parochial league with Amat, Loyola, Notre Dame, and Serra. Damian is hating life. I actually think Damian will compete in everything except football. They will be the easy win in football for at least the first three years.

      • LoveBajaMalibu

Thanks, Serra League and Pac5 for football. What about all the other sports.?

  • Valley Athletics

Looking at it in a baseball perspective . Hacienda got more balanced with bonita out now . But wow that Sierra league with south hills , Glendora , Bonita , diamond bar is tough .going to be rough for diamond bar .

    • AyeYaYay

It’ll be Bonita and South Hills year in and year out in Baseball. Agree it’ll be a little rough for Dbar, but they’ll compete.

Glendora is the one that’s going to be in for a rude awakening and will have to realize that there IS Baseball outside of Glendora and the Arcadia/Chino tourneys.

      • http://twitter.com/SGVNSports Fred J. Robledo

Are you kidding? South Hills, Bonita and Glendora are on an even level when it comes to baseball. Glendora has played in the toughest league and playoff divisions for years.

        • AyeYaYay

Baseline league vs Sierra Baseball is not comparable Fred. It’s the exact flip as it is in Football. Baseline in Football is insane, however Sierra is tough in Football but not at the same level for football.

In comparison for Baseball, In a 3 game series… vs Bonita and South Hills, I don’t agree Fred with you. But hey it’ll all play out right?

No stakes in this convo, just a long time Valley sports observers comment.

          • http://twitter.com/SGVNSports Fred J. Robledo

If you say Los Osos, Glendora and Upland aren’t comparable to South Hills, Chino Hills, Damien and Claremont, here’s my argument.
Valle Vista third-place Northview beat Sierra League champ South Hills to win the Dicks tourney… You remember that?. Did everyone forget Damien lost to Los Altos, a so-so team from the Hacienda, and also lost to Rowland? Glendora, meanwhile, went 4-0 against Tribune area teams, including a 5-0 win over Valle Vista League champ San Dimas.

To me, that’s how it’s comparable. If they’re capable of winning games, which they already have, they’re capable of winning a three-game series.

          • AyeYaYay

It will all play itself out, Fred.

Wish best of luck to ALL SGV Teams.

We need to show those OC schools we can ball out here in the SGV!

          • Jimmy the Greek

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Glendora just win the D2 Baseball Championship 3 years ago??? I would say that’s the most impressive championship in SGV in recent memory.

    • http://www.facebook.com/ptyrone Patrick Tyrone

blame los altos! they made the proposal! karma though will indeed be a bitch for them I hope!

  • Jastrab

Herald Examiner (LA) reporting moving the Sierra out of Inland and Hacienda moving up to the Inland.

    • Aaron

Funny…you have a link? The Herald Examiner hasn’t been published since 1989.

      • Jastrab

Aaron, just wanted to see if everyone was alert.

  • http://www.facebook.com/rosa.gonzales.39 Rosa Gonzales

Is this proposals for all sports?

  • G-Stone128

I’m surprised that La Puente was moved out of the Montview League. I thought they were doing pretty well. I’m not too sure about Pomona or Garey? But, it appears that they got moved into an easier league.

  • Inland Coach

Also have heard a rumor among coaches that the Hacienda League is gonna replace the Sierra League in the Inland. I bet you CO is crossing there fingers that doesn’t happen.

    • Jastrab

What league do you put into the Inland if you remove the Sierra? I don’t see any other league having a chance.

      • 90′s Spartan

How about the Inland Valley League? JW North, Rancho Verde, Arlington, Valley View, Riv. Poly, Vista Del Lago, Canyon Springs.
