Was waiting for Bishop Amat (Softball) too happens every year..Amat is deep with talent & athletic players that should be producing Championships..but they seem to get out-coached every year in either the quarter or semi-finals..The last 2 years I watched Amat keep their starting pitcher in just a little too long..Good hitting teams will make their adjustments to the pitching timing & start putting the ball in play or produce clutch hits with runners in scoring position..As a coach you have too know when is the right time too off-set the hitters with a change of speed or junk..I also understand keeping your ace in there for the whole game thinking she got us this far..The game is hers too win or lose..In theory that sounds good but realistically speaking you have to strategize to win during the playoffs ….It’s Win or Go Home!..You have to make the adjustments at some point weather it be on offense or defense..Good hitting teams will always make the transition after facing a pitcher 2 or 3 times throughout the game..On another note Chino Hills & Ayala were solid today! These are 2 good schools with great player chemistry on their rosters..Fred looks like you had a rough time this week predicting the winners..I don’t blame you..Softball is like Baseball..That’s how the ball bounces sometimes..It’s hard too tell who the better team is when it’s a one game series..

      12th man ????????
Always easy to call’um as I see’um after the dust has settled , right .Well what do you have to look forward to now ??? AMAT’s softball team has lost so now who’s next in your sights ????? AMAT’s baseball team ???? Some coaches go to the end with their ace , the kid deserves it ( it was a 1 run game, not like she was getting bombed ) and that’s his call , you call it different . You have your opinion and that’s fine but why don’t you try a different approach . Bottom line , you got to hit the ball , you touched on that with your good hitting teams line . Hey give La Serna credit . they beat a solid team , and if their coach made the difference , so be it .

I respect your opinion..but if you read correctly..My comment was in regards to the previous 2 years..Where I actually witnessed the games..I have no clue why they lost today?(wasn’t there)

As for the Baseball team..I actually thought Nieto made a brilliant move by scheduling Palm Desert right before the playoffs..He actually gave his team a psychological advantage playing on the road..

    • 12th man…hard to read your post with the 2312 grammatical errors…let alone your lack of knowledge regarding FP and strategy

The Sierra League continues to hang tough. I was at the SH game and their pitcher was off today, if not Sierra would have had 4 winners.

With the Sierra League moving up to Division 2, this year was Amat’s best chance of winning the Division 3 CIF title. Meanwhile, the Sierra League teams are now dominating division 2.

Great job Sierra Vista knocking off Citrus Valley. Quote of the week:
“Every single game you know it can happen,” Citrus Valley coach April Finazzo said. “We knew every team that played us was giving it their all. They never had nothing to lose. Every team has played us tough and this team played us tough.” Mountain Valley League champion Citrus Valley won the Division 6 championship last season.
I guess Sierra Vista “had nothing to lose” haha. great win! Good luck Thursday, you have a new fan.
