Senior WR/DB Alex Powell, who left Charter Oak for South Hills, will become eligible to participate with the Huskies football team under the CIF-SS 30-day sit-out-period, making him eligible on Oct. 7. Powell is the younger brother of former Charter Oak standout AJ Powell. Although Alex Powell won’t be eligible when the season starts, it’s a better scenario than Antonio Noodles Hull (West Covina to Diamond Bar) and Jake Payton (San Dimas to Upland), who were both declared ineligible for athletically motivated reasons.
