Roundup: St. Lucy’s wins battle of top teams, beats Los Altos in five sets; Glendora takes care of Monrovia

The Glendora High School volleyball team lost both of its matches in the Los Osos tournament last weekend, including a sweep by the Grizzlies, the top-ranked team in the CIF-Southern Section Division 2AA.
Tuesday night, those losing gremlins were put to rest.
“I know we can get a lot more wins,” outside hitter Becca Lowden said. “We just have to get there altogether.”
The Tartans defeated Monrovia in a three-game sweep in the Glendora gym.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
St. Lucy’s Priory High School has been the dominant girls volleyball team in recent seasons and the Regents showed it again Tuesday.
St. Lucy’s bested host Los Altos in five sets, winning, 25-16, 25-21, 25-27, 23-25, 17-15.
The Regents began the week ranked No. 8 in CIF-Southern Section Division 1A. The Conquerors are No. 9 in 2AA.
Morelia Castro had 15 kills and Jeannette Mojica 14 to lead Los Altos.
GIRLS TENNIS
At La Salle 12, Azusa 6

Seniors Claire Fitzgerald and Chloe Beauvois each swept three sets for the Lancers, who improved to 2-2. Fitzgerald improved to 12-0.
