The Southeast ate a load of humble pie Friday night. La Mirada and Downey the two teams many feel will face off in the final are a combined 0-6. Downey being outscored by 100 and La Mirada by 62. I know they are playing stepped-up competition but you should at least make a game a little suspenseful.Bonita, West Covina, Diamond Ranch, Rowland all lost. The top two undefeated teams left Los Altos and Norwalk have all played teams rated lower then their’s and will continue to do so. So Aram’s and Fred’s raves about the power of the Southeast should stop for now. The only win of note might be Bonita’s over South Hills but that’s not saying much after last night. CIF has it right, the Southeast is Division VII..

Reality, I don’t know many people that have La Mirada in the finals.

I would have penciled in Downey for the finals but they should have beat this Mira Costa team.

MC did come off a shellacking to the hands off Notre Dame and were probably looking to avenge that loss with a good win.

At the risk of repeating myself…
    From the L.A. Times:

“A year ago, Rancho Cucamonga went 10-3 and got lots of attention…But this year’s team could be better.”
RC beat Norco, a then top 25 team in California, last week. Prior to the Amat game, RC was ranked in the top 25 in the state by Maxpreps and in the top 25 locally by the L.A. Times.

A win would have been great, however, there is no shame in coming up just short to a quality opponent. Amat will be just fine.

Im back and will be honest my warriors dont look to sharp this year and Amat imo looks quite good even with the lost to RC. Saying all that i must say Amat does seem like a threat this year to the consecutive defending Serra league champs.
