San Dimas girls volleyball player Marissa Messina didn’t let cancer stop her from returning to action

STORY: For San Dimas High School senior Marissa Messina, that peak is realizing her goal of playing girls volleyball again. It comes a little more than a year after learning she had cancer. But after nine months of chemotherapy and some hard work getting her body back in playing shape to compete in the high rigors of volleyball, she’s back with her teammates, competing and helping them win matches.
