Diamond Bar, Diamond Ranch win big again but Charter Oak with the biggest win of the night, 31-20 over Los Osos; St. Francis crushes Monrovia, 48-14

“We don’t circle any games on our calendar. The game that needs to be circled is the next game. We were not looking past Los Altos tonight, we knew what they would bring.” Diamond Ranch coach Roddy Layton on facing Diamond Bar after its bye week.

stfrancisFriday’s results
Bishop Amat 48, Culver City 19 Lancers finish non-league 5-1 heading into next week’s Serra opener at Notre Dame.
Charter Oak 31, Los Osos 20 Might be just the Chargers’ (1-4) first win of the season, but there are few teams in this area with a bigger notch on their belt.
St. Francis 48, Monrovia 14 Guess this settles who’s the best in the Star-News area. But I could have told you that.
Diamond Ranch 30, Los Altos 13 Moves to 2-0 in the Hacienda with victory over previously undefeated Los Altos.
Diamond Bar 34, West Covina 13Heard there were “we’ve got Noodles” chants in the stands at Diamond Bar. But more importantly, Brahmas get the win to keep pace with Diamond Ranch, both 2-0.
Glendora 16, South Hills 14 Tartans win with a 19-yard field goal in final minute to remain undefeated, 5-0, with Upland in town next week.
San Dimas 58, Wilson 7 The Valle Vista is a sight for sore eyes for the Saints, who might win every game this way.
10-4-13 DRANCH02Kaiser 18, Ayala 14Bulldogs had a lead most of the game, but not when it counts, in the end.
Bell Gardens 32, El Monte 6 Not the Lions year, it’s as simple as that.
Rosemead 35, Temple City 14 Arroyo may be the Mission Valley favorite, but Rosemead is right there.
Baldwin Park 35, Nogales 29Nogales rallied from a big deficit to tie the score at 29, but the Braves pulled it out to remain undefeated, 5-0.
Los Alamitos 27, Damien 13The Spartans hung, but couldn’t get the W. It should be a great one at Charter Oak next week.
Bonita 59, Rowland 0 This looks and feels ugly just typing it.
Arroyo 34, La Canada 10 The Knights continue to get better and better since season-opening loss to Los Altos.
San Marino 63, South El Monte 14 Could the Titans possibly give Monrovia a game, especially after Monrovia’s blowout loss to St. Francis?
La Puente 33, Sierra Vista 12 The Warriors keep winning and winning, can’t wait for that showdown with Azusa.
Duarte 52, Workman 0 Not a surprise, the Falcons wanted this after last week’s close loss to Azusa.
Maranatha 23, Mountain View 20The Vikings came up just short.
Bassett 34, Gladstone 28 Despite losing almost everyone from last season, the Gladiators continue to be competitive.

aram is out of his narrow mind..Scoby isn’t even on pace for 3000 yards now, let alone planning on a 15 game season…of course the donut man censors your comments if you blast him..15 games x 200 yards equals 3k…do the math michelin man or talk to your god double g greg gano…he;s already been bounced by Tustin HS

Diamond Ranch should stay undefeated, Los Altos is tough but I don’t think they are at DR’s level. Diamond Bar is better this year than in years past, the only problem is their achillies heal has always been stopping physical run games, thats the one thing West Covina can still do this year. West Covina is having lots of problems on defense so this could be a shoot out, I’m guessing West Co has made changes on defense this week, I’ll pick them by a TD or less. Glendora and South Hills looks like a good matchup, I’ve seen South Hills twice and they
are pretty good but I haven’t seen Glendora. With Glendora being undefeated and having wins over Ayala, Bonita, and Charter Oak, I’ll go with Glendora by 10 points or less.

    • Stephen Carter

Just like with any quick shoot offense, plan your game to keep DB’s offense off of the field. If Magg can manage the clock, WC has a chance to knock them off. But honestly DB, is just Fast and filled with Athletes..so its a crap shoot!!

      • WCDan

7 West Co fumbles, I think 4 or 5 lost, Coaches had the right Idea for this week, the one thing we can still do is run the ball a little, so go at DB’s weakness, which is stopping the run and try and keep their talented offense off the field. Could have been a good game but then the fumbles started and the DB offense is to good not to take advante of the situation. It was a crap shoot, unfortunately not in WC’s favor.

        • The Dude

Ya, that looked pretty bad, prayers go out to him. WC was still able to run the ball pretty well, but I thought Inglima had a pretty good defensive scheme for it. Obviously the fumbles helped a lot. The D stepped up in a game where the O looked very sloppy compared to normal for DB

        • Bulldogs have bite

The fumbles killed us! Good news is David Ford is going to be ok. He ended up with a really bad neck stinger. Any head or neck injury usually ends up with an ambulance ride as a precaution.

          • Bill

Thanks for all the pre game smack talk and you can bet db can read.
            Good luck to you guys

          • Bulldogs have bite

Smack talk is all part of the fun! You guys have a good team this year! Hopefully we can still schedule you guys since you are moving to the Sierra next season!

          • Brahma fan

I’m glad to hear that Ford is ok. Always a bad thing when a kid from EITHER side is injured. For awhile there I thought we were in trouble, especially when Deshaun Love went down in the fourth. We should’ve had more ambulances. Someone needs to talk to our administration about that. Thank God we have a team Dr. and a crack Training staff. Those 4 West Covina injuries really set the time back. That game didn’t end until after 10;00. I felt so bad when I saw all those West Covina fans waiting for the bus at the bus stop on Grand. The good Samaritan in me came out. I informed them that the busses stopped running at 10:00pm., gave them one of my bottled waters, and pointed them South on Grand. Yay me!

          • Bulldogs have bite

Haha funny! Nobody from WC wanted to drive their own cars. Everybody knows that Diamond Bar peeps don’t know how to drive.

          • xiledsoviet

            lol unfortunately that’s true..

          • Brahma fan

Those drivers usually stay in at night. Friday is family Karaoke Night.

Holly crap that was funny, I just about blew coffee threw my nose when I read that. You should try driving into our parking lot at 3:00 pm Mon-Fri sometime.

Hey, but atleast your car will still be there after the game! Haha

          • WCDan

Just one bottle? They may still be lost in Chino, you shoulda gave em at least two.

          • disqus_wD2qThRkJd

The injury is more important than picking apart teams! I agree!

          • Stephen Carter

Glad the kid will pull through!!

    • OuttaYourMindTrib

You mean Dirty Ranch should stay undefeated in LEAGUE right? There’s still that stain of a loss against Ayala.

      LOL

  • What?

That was a complete and udder butt whoooping that SF put on Du-rovia. I was sitting in the SF section and they were all commenting on how this game was far and away the easy team that they had faced all year.

    • http://sgvtribune.com/ Galileo

udders are cows teats…or did you mean utter…please don’t use words that you have no idea of their meaning or spelling….

      • What?

obviously I was fine on the meaning, the spelling? not so much. If I had known I was taking an English Pop Quiz I would have used a dictionary. I just thank god every day that I don’t have to work at Home Depot.

        • http://sgvtribune.com/ Galileo

how do you know the meaning but not know how to spell it? I guess your job holding a sign on the on-ramp wouldn’t get much sympathy if it was correctly spelled!

        • disqus_wD2qThRkJd

          LOL

      • Grasshopper

It’s kind of ironic that you would commit grammatical errors while correcting another’s grammar.

        • http://sgvtribune.com/ Galileo

another’s ? remedial work for you!

          • What?

I thought this post by Joe Amat would be appropriate here.

“It’s the Law of Blogs and never fails. He who corrects someone’s grammar is destined to make a grammatical mistake of their own. Still holds true to form!”

Now can you please get me a price check on half inch dry wall? And when your done with that, I’m going to need you to gather all the carts in the parking lot.

          • http://sgvtribune.com/ Galileo

actually Galileo doesn’t work for HD , he supplys people that do the demonstrations and merchandising for big orange…being a 20 plus year shareholder has made me a wealthy man…so, I’ll make a call and get you a cart..handicapped ,for you?

  • SGVSports

Fred and Aram Los Altos ranked 4th, WOW …. We should have beaten that team by 40 points. They had no offense, I think they got more yardage on penalties. We knocked the crap out of their qb in the first quarter and he played like a girl the rest of the game. This was the softest team we have played all year, at least 1/2 their offense was carried off the field during the game.

    • AramT

what are you talking about? the stats i got say you were outgained by 50 yards.

      • DeeeeRanchPops

Not sure what game you were watching or even if you were there but that was a complete dismantling of the highly overrated conqs. Are we finally going to be ranked in the top 5 and more importantly above los altos. I think the only way we can be stopped this year in the hacienda is with this weeks bye because everyone else is going to get rolled like a drunk on skid row. Don’t say i didnt tell you so.

        • Bill

The mentality of Pomona ranch is the reason they are known as dirty ranch.

          • disqus_wD2qThRkJd

I want to know why is there the Mayors Cup when DR is NOT even in Diamond Bar?? If anything, they are Pomona/Philips Ranch and even somewhat Chino Hills! But making this a Diamond Bar rivalry is not even legit!

          • xiledsoviet

I would love to see the Ranch’s reaction if DB stops scheduling DR when they go back to the Sierra league

          • disqus_wD2qThRkJd

Im not sure why it would matter if they do or dont! DR is not even part of DB ,they just get kids from the North side of town, but the school itself is not DB, They could just as easily be a rivalry with Ayala as it sits

          • xiledsoviet

Ayala has a history with DB. DR doesn’t. They just declared themselves to be DB’s rival when DB got moved out of the Sierra league

        • AramT

Numbers I got was that D-Ranch was held to 99 yards rushing by LA and was out-gained by 50 yards in the game.

Scoreboard is all that matters, though.

          • SGVSports

Amazing, Aram comes on this thread and defends Los Altos, look at the score jerk. Los Altos couldn’t move the ball the whole second half. Their best drive of the second half was 25 yards of penalities and and 10 yards of offense. What is it about Aram and the teams out of Pomona. You hate on Diamond Ranch and Pomona. Pomona is undefeated and you don’t even have them ranked. You have Los Altos ranked 4th, with zero quality wins. No I don’t concern San Dimas a quality win, they got bown out by Bonita. We all saw what happened to Bonita this week. Maybe you didn’t notice Aram. You question why no one respect you, look in the mirror well for you mirrors.

          • disqus_wD2qThRkJd

Perhaps if you would learn to humble yourselves just a bit even while having reason to celebrate, maybe you and the Pomona area would get more respect! Just a thought!

          • disqus_wD2qThRkJd

THe difference appears to be the team who made the least mistakes and capitalized!

      • http://sgvtribune.com/ Galileo

being outgained by 50 yards…what does that mean? NADA…turnovers,3rd down conversions, those are the stats that people in the know look at….I mean the guys who don’t get a chubby looking at nearly meaningless passing league circuses…like certain fishwrap “writers”

  • Brahma fan

    “FREE NOODLES!!”

    • Lancerito’s Buddy

CRY ME A RIVER… FYI, if you are going to transfer dont put it in writting, “NOODLE BRAIN”!

  • Football

Chants of “WE GOT NOODLES” is not true!!!!!!!!! All that was seen on and off the field was nothing but respect from both teams… I saw coaches talking and shaking hands with one another… It was a hard fought game and Diamond Bar got the win…

    • disqus_wD2qThRkJd

Dont think for one minute the 2 schools like each other!

  • Frank

Monrovia-Duarte got a serious reality check. You guys will bounce back that was probably your toughest opponent you will face this year.
