Too bad Northview and South Hills baseball don’t meet this season; Roddy vs. Murphy would have been fun

There’s no secret longtime South Hills baseball assistant Dan Roddy wanted the head coaching job when Kevin Smith bolted for Mt. SAC over the summer. Roddy, a teacher at South Hills, figured he was next in line. However, school officials opted to pass Roddy over for Northview coach Darren Murphy, who moved across town and convinced former Charter Oak coach Tom Quinley to become his assistant at South Hills. Talk about a dymanic duo … So what happened to Roddy? He got the job at Northview, and well deserved. Both coaches are top notch. Now if they would square off head-to-head, that would be really fun.
