Los Altos vs. Monday’s St. Joseph-Yorba Linda winner.

No. 2 Sierra Vista goes down: There will be no all-area match-up in the CIF-Southern Section Division 6 girls soccer semifinals next week, a pair of teams from the Valley View League made sure of that.
Not long after Oxnard Pacifica eliminated third-seed San Dimas 1-0, visiting Camarillo jumped on top of host Sierra Vista and held on for a 3-1 victory over the second-seed Dons in the quarterfinals on Friday.
The Dons, who won the school’s first team championship of any kind by winning the Division 7 title in 2010, were eliminated from the quarterfinals for the third consecutive year.
It ends another remarkable year, finishing 21-4, marking the fourth straight season the Dons finished with just four losses or less.
“It’s always tough when you lose,” Dons coach Steve Jimenez said. “But we’re proud of our program. I’ve got great coaches, great parents, kids and school support that allow us to work year-around. We’re not going anywhere, we’ll be back.”

LA PUENTE — For the Los Altos High School girls soccer team, the CIF-Southern Section playoffs have been all about payback and squaring the Conquerors with opponents who have dealt them postseason death in recent years.
Los Altos, after getting some playoff revenge on Garden Grove Pacifica earlier this week, crossed another one of that list Friday.
Sophomore midfielder Natalia Elizarraras scored a goal and had an assist to lead and the Conquerors got back at Granite Hills with a 3-1 victory in a Division 3 quarterfinal game at La Puente High School.
Granite Hills beat Los Altos in the semifinals in 2010.
Erin Myers and Melanie Moreno also scored goals for the Conquerors, who improved to 21-2-3 and advanced to Tuesday’s semifinals against either Yorba Linda or Lakewood St. Joseph, whose quarterfinal was postponed until Monday due to Friday’s rain.
Granite Hills, getting a goal from Ashlenn Bradbury, finished 13-8-4.

Los Altos coach Chris Reeder: “This whole playoff has been a repeat (in reverse) for us. Pacifica has knocked us out a couple of times and we get them (in the second round). Granite Hills played like Warriors a few years ago here and knocked us out. We were able to face them today in the quarters and knock them out.”

Granite Hills coach Mike Bradbury: “Credit to coach Reeder and his program and his girls. They obviously had a plan of attack, and when you execute your plan of attack, you win games.”

Los Altos’ Natalia Elizaarraras: “Our coach told us that (Granite Hills) comes out hard. To get two on them quick was pretty good and get some separation from them.”

Diamond Bar gets its revenge: The Diamond Bar girls soccer team is living on the edge and loving the results.
Bishop Amat won two championships in the last three years in similar fashion, rallying time after time, and was at it again against host Diamond Bar in Wednesday’s CIF-Southern Section Division 3 second-round game.
But the Brahmas didn’t buckle, showing incredible reserve after the Lancers’ late rally, surviving a wild final 10 minutes to pull out a 3-2 victory over the fourth seed after nearly blowing a 2-0 lead it held most of the match.

South Hills comes up short, 2-1: The scouting report on Sunny Hills was accurate.
The CIF-Southern Section Division 2 top-ranked girls soccer team has one of the stingiest defenses in Southern California and scores most of its goals on set pieces from throw-ins and corner kicks.
In the end, it was two first-half goals that came off a throw-in and a corner kick that was the difference as the Lancers posted a 2-1 victory over South Hills at Covina District Field on Tuesday to eliminate the Huskies from the playoffs.
