Girls Wrestling: Arroyo’s Jackie Quinones wins state title; Northview places second

Northview High School came up short in its quest for a second consecutive CIF State girls wrestling title, placing second to Albany Saturday night at the Visalia Convention Center.
Arroyo’s Jackie Quinones was the only area competitor to score an individual title, taking first at 189 pounds.
Eighteen area athletes took top eight medals. In addition to Quinones, they were Northview’s Daveena Banda (126), Katie Auxier (143, third), Jazmin Perez (121, fifth) and Diedra Valles (170, sixth); Nogales’ Alondra Becerra (101, fifth); Walnut’s Alyssa Barredo (106, third); Mountain View’s Inez Martinez (116, fourth) and Milagros Garcia (170, third); Covina’s Fay Venturina (116, seventh); San Dimas’ Daishea Jaime (121, sixth) and Brandie Elizalde (126, third); Arroyo’s Jade Harvey (138, eighth); Sierra Vista’s Angelica Ochoa (160, fifth) and Evelyn Avila (234, fourth); West Covina’s Yvette Garcia (170, seventh) and Jazmine Chavarria (235, eighth); Baldwin Park’s Jessica Villegas (189, fifth);
