Watch Chino Hills’ 3-2 victory over Hart for the Division 2 girls soccer title … SoCal regional playoff pairings announced, Chino Hills and Baldwin Park boys are in it

STATE PLAYOFFS: The first round of the Southern California Regional soccer championships is on Tuesday for boys and girls with the semifinals scheduled for Thursday and championships on Saturday at Warren High School in Downey. All first round games are scheduled at 4 p.m., with lower seeded teams in each round hosting home games until the final.
The Baldwin Park (21-4-1) boys soccer team, who defeated Marshall 5-4 in penalty after a scoreless regulations and two overtimes on Friday, was seeded fifth and opens the first round of the Division II boys playoffs on the road at San Diego’ Southwest (19-2-4), the fourth-seed, on Tuesday.
If Baldwin Park wins, it could set up a meeting with top-seed and nationally ranked Cathedral (26-1-1) in the semifinals. Cathedral will host Animo Leadership (16-6) in the first round at La Salle HS.
Chino Hills (25-2-1) girls soccer, who won the CIF-SS Division 2 title 3-2 over Hart, was seeded second in Division I and will host Oxnard Pacifica (16-6-4) in the first round Tuesday.
The Gabrielino girls soccer team, who won the Division 7 title, did not get invited to the regional championships. Nor did the Marshall boys after reaching the Division 5 final.
