Baseball Rankings: No. 1 South Hills and No. 2 Damien both 3-0 in Sierra and meet on Wednesday

Tribune Baseball Rankings
1. South Hills (12-1-1) — Won a tournament in South Carolina and faces Damien for first in Sierra on Wednesday.
2. Damien (11-2) — Spartans’ only two losses by one run each heading into Wednesday’s showdown with South Hills.
3. Glendora (9-4) — Advanced to the semifinals of the tough Boras Classic.
4. San Dimas (9-5) — After a quick start, Tribune’s pre-season No. 1 has lost three straight.
5. Bonita (9-5) — Allowing more runs than in past years, but still Hacienda league favorite.
6. Diamond Bar (10-6) — Why do the Brahmas always lose to Bonita? Oh wait, they finally got them.
7. Bishop Amat (5-6) — Against the best-of-the-best, Amat is an average team with an average record. But still favored to win the Del Rey.
8. Nogales (10-3-1) — Record impressive again, but will it be good enough to make a run at the Valle Vista league title?
9. Sierra Vista (10-2) — Already 4-0 in the Montview
10. Charter Oak (8-5) — Winners of four straight after winning the Don Lugo tournament.

Bonita split with diamond bar so I wouldn’t make them a favorite .they play walnut next week who is the first place team in hacienda right now . We don’t here to much about brandon buna at Rowland . One of the best in valley . Scouts should be keeping an eye on him .

I was wondering if Fred knew DB beat them 3-0 in the 2nd game

Did diamond bar and Bonita split last year ? I think they did .

So you don’t cover the actual leaders, just D3 and above? There are higher ranked kids than those you’ve posted.

It would be interesting to see the records, stats, etc. if the other teams played against competition like Glendora, San Dimas and Bishop Amat have been playing.

I don’t think it matters what the stats would say. When a D6 school has talent it doesn’t matter to the people looking in from a D3 school. They say that the competition is weak, which in a sense is true. But I know the kid who is ranked 2nd in California in strikeouts has a nice scholarship. That can’t be said for a lot of the kids in the D3 system. I feel bad for some of the kids in D3 that don’t get the help from coaches to get that scholarship that they deserve. But I also know that the kids have to do most of it during the offseason by playing scout or travel ball. Good luck to all the kids that are playing out there and have great seasons!

Didn’t Glendora win the Don Lugo Tournament Fred?

Why is Sierra Vista Number 9. Baldwin Park High Beat them and shut down their best hitters and they are not even ranked. Sierra Vista beat nobody good with that record.
