There is likely no greater honor for a person than having something named after you, especially something you dedicated a big part of your life to.
That distinction will be bestowed on former Glendora Tennis Tournament director Paul Baiotto, who passed away in 2012. Biaotto, who made the Glendora Tennis Championships arguably one of the top summer events in the Valley for more than 40 years will receive the honor Thursday when the Glendora High School tennis courts will be named in his honor in a ceremony at 3 p.m. prior to the Tartans’ Baseline League match.
“It’s a big honor for Paul and we’re glad he’s getting this honor,” said Karen Baiotto, Paul’s wife. “He would be proud, but he would say it’s not just for him, but for those who worked with him. He would say they deserved the honor as well.”
