Kale Morton pitches Glendora to Baseline League title

RANCHO CUCAMONGA —
The Baseline League baseball title belongs to Glendora High School.
Kale Morton tossed a four-hitter and struck out 11 and the Tartans clinched their third league title in four seasons with a 3-1 victory over host Los Osos on Tuesday.
DJ Peters and Justin Cage each had RBIs for Glendora, which improved to 18-5 overall and 11-1 in league play. The Tartans, ranked No. 4 in CIF-Southern Section Division 2 this week, holds a four-game advantage with three to play. Los Osos, which got an RBI single from D.J. Porter, slipped to 9-12 and 4-7.
Glendora, after being held hitless during the first three innings took a 2-0 lead in the fourth. Griffen Herrera led off with a single and scored on a triple to right-center field by Peters. Cage followed with a single for a 2-0 advantage.
Glendora’s Kale Morton: “It feels good, because last year (Los Osos) beat us on our home field to win the league. It feels good to come here and get the win.”

Glendora coach Dan Henley: “This means its an outright league championship and the last time we’ll be in this league, which is a quality league, so we’re really happy to be in this position. Kale Morton has been great all season and he came through again today.”
