Bishop Amat’s Garcia has big night: Bishop Amat High scored on its first six possessions and quarterback Damian Garcia had a near record night, throwing for 418 yards and five touchdowns in a 52-22 rout of visiting Chaminade to head into its bye week tied for first in the Mission League with its third straight league win for the first time since 2010.
Garcia threw four of his touchdown passes to Brandon Arconado, and emerging junior running back Torreahno Sweet had another solid game, rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Garcia did all his work in three quarters before sitting out the fourth. He was chasing legendary Pat Haden’s 1969 single-game record of 470 yards passing before taking a seat.

Los Altos stuns Charter Oak: Los Altos ruined homecoming for longtime rival Charter Oak with a 29-7 win over the Chargers on Friday night.
The Conquerors (3-4, 1-1), one of the preseason favorites to win the Hacienda League, had lost three consecutive games but find themselves right back in the race and may have turned their season around with the win.
The Conquerors defense set the tone for the game when Kyle Durham intercepted a Chargers pass at his own 40-yard line and ran it back to the Charter Oak 34 with 9:36 left in the first quarter.

Glendora knocks out Ayala: Two games into its Palmoares League tenure, the Glendora High School football team couldn’t be happier.
Ayala, conversely, wasn’t thrilled to reunite with its former Sierra League nemesis Friday night.
Glendora held the Bulldogs to 208 total yards in a 27-7 win to remain undefeated in league play and hand a crucial loss to arguably their toughest competition for the Palomares League title.
