Mid-Valley Division playoff scenario’s — all leagues guaranteed only two spots

Mid-Valley Division playoff spots (12 guaranteed, 4 at-large)
Leagues guaranteed only two spots: Valle Vista, Almont, Mission Valley, Miramonte, Montview, Gold Coast)

Valle Vista League
Scenario’s:
Northview has won the league title no matter what happens against Rowland. If San Dimas beats Wilson as expected it will finish second. If Covina beats Nogales as expected it will finish third and 6-4. If that happens, expect Covina to earn one of the four at-large berths.
VALLE VISTA SCENARIO

Montview League
Senario’s:
Azusa has won the league title regardless of how it fares against Gladstone. Baldwin Park will likely beat Workman to finish second and get a guaranteed spot. If Sierra Vista beat Duarte and finished third, not sure their 4-6 overall record will get them in the playoffs. Look for only Azusa and Baldwin Park to get in.
Montview scenario

Mission Valley League
Scenario’s: Rosemead has won the league title and No. 1 spot. If El Monte beats Gabrielino, El Monte finishes second and gets third spot. Even if El Monte loses, it finishes second because if it ties for second with the winner of Arroyo-South El Monte, El Monte owns the head-to-head over both. Question is, will the winner of Arroyo-South El Monte get an at-large with a 4-6 overall record? Doubt it, but possible.
Mission Valley scenario

Miramonte League
Scenario’s:
Pomona needs a win over Bassett to clinch No. 1. If Bassett wins and La Puente beats Ganesha as expected, there is a three-way tie for first and coin flips will determine top two spots. If Pomona and La Puente win, Pomona finishes first, La Puente second and Bassett third. My guess is whoever finishes third will get one of the four at-large. Let’s say it’s Bassett and they finish 5-5. They should get in. They also own a non-league win over El Monte and one loss is to 9-0 Maranatha.
miramonte scenario

at-large berths: Look for the Valle Vista, Miramonte and Gold Coast to get at-large berths. Gold Coast could possibly get two with two teams likely to finish with 7-3 records or better and not getting automatics. Don’t expect the Almont League to get an at-large.
