The Olympians (5-5, 2-2) dropped to third place in the league and will have to wait until Sunday to find out if they will get an at-large berth for the playoffs, which begin next week.
Damien eliminated from playoffs: Rancho Cucamonga earned the final playoff spot from the Baseline League in a 51-21 win over Damien on Friday at Los Osos High School. The Cougars (6-4, 3-2) make the playoffs for the seventh straight year under head coach Nick Baiz. The Spartans (4-6, 1-4) end their season with a losing record for the third straight year. “Our league’s tough,” Baiz said. “Third place wasn’t what we were hoping for, but we’ll take it and move on to the playoffs.”
