Tuesday Recap: Duarte girls soccer shocks Sierra Vista 3-2; Bishop Amat gets seventh straight shutout

Duarte 3, Sierra Vista 2 — Lindsey Lathrop scored twice, Ruth Macdonaugh scored a goal and goalie Alexa Moreno had seven saves to lead the Falcons (8-4-1, 4-1) to the Montview league victory against the Dons (13-4-1, 4-1). Duarte is the first team to beat Sierra Vista in a league match this season.
San Dimas 3, Wilson 2 — Kayla Higheros, Samantha Galan, and Cheyenne Cepeda each scored a goal to lead the Saints (5-10-2, 4-1) to the Valle Vista league win.
Bishop Amat 2, St. Joseph 0 — The Lancers recorded their seventh straight shutout, getting a pair of goals from Hannah Armendariz, helping the Lancers improve to 14-6 overall and 4-0 in the Del Rey League.
Rowland 3, Northview 2 — Host Rowland (5-9-1, 3-2) won the Valle Vista League match against the Vikings.
Boys soccer
Bassett 3, Edgewood 0 — Goalkeeper Carlos Ramierez recorded a shutout, Richard Cueva scored twice and Ernesto Cueva scored a goal to lead the visiting Olympians (6-8, 2-4) to the Miramonte League victory.
Diamond Ranch 5, West Covina 0 — Mariano Bernal scored three goals and goalies Carlos Aldrete and Alejandro Romo recorded a shutout for the Panthers (9-5-3, 3-2) in a Hacienda League victory. Anthony Vargas and David Pino each scored a goal for Diamond Ranch.
South El Monte 3, El Monte 2 — Jesus Garcia and Ramon Rodriguez each scored a goal for the Lions (9-6-2, 6-1-1) but it was not enough in the Mission Valley League loss.
Girls water polo
Charter Oak 19, Chino 6 — Sarah Adams had eight goals, five assists and three steals and Katie Fugit had five goals, five assists, and four steals for the Chargers (15-4, 4-1) in a Hacienda League victory. Also contributing to Charter Oak’s victory were Devynn Stein who had four goals, two assists, and three steals and Julianna Martinez who had a goal, three assists, and a steal. Maddie Meza had four goals for Chino.
Bonita 20, Glendora 3 — Erin Gonzalez, Kayla DeHerrera, and Amanda Legaspi each scored four goals for the Bearcats (11-1, 5-0) in a Palomares League win. Taylor Alley and Reannon Urias each scored twice and goalies Rachel Garwick had seven saves and Alisha Plum had six saves for Bonita. Glendora’s Carly Kesterson scored three goals.
St. Lucy’s 15, Upland 8 — Devin Holcomb had four goals and two steals and Sabrina Garabet had four goals, three assists and two steals to lead the Regents (13-6, 6-1) to the Baseline League victory. Hilary Adkins had three goals, five assists, and a steal and goalie Nichol Feldtz had six saves for St. Lucy’s.
