Boys Soccer Playoffs: Sierra Vists wins in overtime; Covina, La Puente advance

Bishop Amat falls to Pasadena: If there was a time for Alex Hernandez to step into a key leadership role, Friday was it.
The junior had, by far, his biggest soccer game of his Pasadena High School career. He scored the first hat trick in school history and also had an assist to carry the host Bulldogs to a 4-1 CIF Southern Section Division 3 first-round playoff game.
“It is an unbelievable experience,” Hernandez said. “I can’t believe I scored three goals in a CIF game. To be honest, it’s all these guys. They did all the hard work for me. I just finished.”
