Chino 4, Ganesha 2 — Blaine Quinzon, Gerardo Cobarrubias, Angel Flores and Adrian Lopez each scored a goal to lead the Cowboys (16-6-2) to the Division 5 first-round victory.
Covina 6, Hawthorne 0 — Jose Ortega scored twice for the Colts (11-8) in the Division 6 first-round match-up along with Anthony Aguinaga, Abner Ortega, Edgar Guadalupe, and Fernando Pinedo who all contributed one goal each.
Claremont 3, Upland 2 — Justin Munevar scored twice and Nick Loeffler scored a goal for the Wolfpack (17-1-4) in a Division 3 first-round playoff win.
Boys basketball
Los Altos 55, Arlington 45 — Christian Espinoza had 19 points and David Tolmachoff had nine points and 11 rebounds to lead the Conquerors (20-8) to the Division 3AA first-round win. Michael Barrera had nine points and Jayson Jones had seven points for Los Altos.
Ventura 66, Rowland 52 — Junior Hernandez had 16 points and seven rebounds and Derek Ohara had 15 points and five rebounds for the Raiders (18-9) but it was not enough in the Division 2AA first-round loss. Tyler Gachett had 14 points and four rebounds for Rowland.
Garden Grove 75, Arroyo 61 — Justin Alfonso, and Fabian Gomez both scored 10 points alongside Moises Munoz who had 19 points for the Knights (13-14) in a Division 2AA first-round loss.
