Master’s Preview: Northview wrestler Joe Dominguez has fit in well

There is usually a transitional period for student-athletes who transfer from one school to another.
Wrestler Joe Dominguez’s switch from St. John Bosco to Northview High School might be the exception.
He has fit in quite nicely with the Vikings, mainly because he’s been here before. The senior was part of Northview’s youth program prior to enrolling at St. John Bosco.
Now he’s back, and couldn’t be happier.
“It’s good,” said Dominguez, one of the top competitors in the state who will be competing at the CIF-Southern Section Masters Meet in Ontario on Friday and Saturday. “My whole life I’ve known them (the Northview team members). They are all my training partners and friends. Yeah, it’s like coming home. It’s good.”
Dominguez’s arrival enhances the Vikings, already viewed as one of the top programs in the state. Dominguez was runner-up at the Masters Meet at 126 pounds as a sophomore before placing sixth in the state at 138 last season.
