Softball
South Hills 1, Troy 0; South Hills 6, Brea Olinda 4 — Natalie Lugo pitched a perfect game with 15 strikeouts to lead the Huskies (4-2) to victory in the Fullerton Tournament. Natalia Boconegra and Christie Aguilar both went 2 for 3 and both had two singles and Mariah Tovar went 2 for 3 with two singles and an RBI. Caitlyn VanHemelryk struck out four and Natalia Bocanegra went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double and an RBI to lead the Huskies to win the second game of the tournament. Christie Aguilar went 2 for 3 with two singles and Reyenne Chavez went 2 for 3 with a single, a double and two RBIs for South Hills, who advance to Wednesday’s tournament semifinals.
Claremont 4, Bishop Amat 2 — Samaria Diaz pitched five innings striking out 6 and Alyssa Barrera went 2 for 3 with a home run for the Lancers (2-2) but it was not enough in the Charter Oak Tournament loss against Claremont (3-2). Maddie Ramirez went 1 for 2 with an RBI for Bishop Amat.
Baseball
Diamond Ranch 4, Knight 2 — Austin Ruiz pitched six innings, striking out six and went 1 for 3 with a triple for the Panthers (1-4) in a Don Lugo Tournament victory. Jorge Rauda went 2 for 2 with an RBI, scored a run and had two stolen bases to lead Diamond Ranch to its first win of the season.
Nogales 6, Estancia 5 — Richard Felix pitched six innings striking out six to lead the Nobles (4-2) to the Newport Elks Tournament win. David Barcena went 2 for 4 with an RBI and scored a run and Chris Lopez went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI for Nogales.
Boys golf
Damien 194, Claremont 224 — Nowndale Sale shot a 36 to lead the Spartans (2-1) to the nonleague victory.
Bishop Amat 236, St. Genevieve 296 — Paul Vigil shot a 45 and Brandon Morales shot a 46 at Knollwood Golf Course for the Lancers (1-2) in a nonleague victory. Jonathan Ochoa and Dylan Agustin each shot a 48 and Donovan Delgado shot a 49 for Bishop Amat.
