Bishop Amat 10, St. Joseph 2 — Alexis Vargas was the winning pitcher and Julia Menrad had three RBIs and a two-run homer for the Lancers (11-4, 4-0) in Del Rey League win.
Gabrielino 4, El Monte 1 — Amanda Borja struck out 11 and Angie Gonzales went 3 for 3 with two doubles to lead the Eagles (2-5-1, 2-2) to the Mission Valley League victory.
Covina 13, Gladstone 1 — Princess Nava had a double, an RBI and three runs scored, Brittany Ching had three RBIs and Samantha Medrano went 3 for 3 with two RBIs to lead the Colts (7-5) to the Northview Tournament win.
St. Lucy’s 7, Montebello 3 — Dakota Casper was the winning pitcher, Carly Pina went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and a double, Gianna Ceccarelli went 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI and Alyssa Avalos went 2 for 4 with a triple to lead the Regents (8-5) to advance to the Northview Tournament Championship.
South El Monte 16, Rosemead 2 — Alyssa Diaz went 2 for 3 with three RBIs, a triple and a home run and Ashley Diaz went 3 for 3 with two RBIs and a home run for the Eagles (7-4, 3-0) in a Mission Valley League victory. For South El Monte, Natalie Serrano went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Mia Luques had a double.
Baseball
South Hills 6, George Jenkins (FLA.) 1 — Gavin Velasquez was the winning pitcher, striking out six and Gabe Chavez went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a double to lead the Huskies (9-3) to the IMG Academy Classic Championship. For South Hills, Brandon Dieter went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and Favian Chavira had a double.
Rosemead 5, South El Monte 2 — Angel Lopez pitched seven innings, striking out five and had an RBI and Johnny Leanos had an RBI and a triple to lead the Panthers (6-5, 2-1) to the Mission Valley League victory. Joshua Nava and Alejandro Dominguez each had an RBI for Rosemead.
Ayala 7, Claremont 6 — Daniel Mendez went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a double and Matthew Acosta went 3 for 3 with a double for the Bulldogs (8-4, 3-1) in a Palomares League victory. Also contributing to Ayala’s victory were Daniel Ramirez who went 3 for 4 with a double and Cheyenne Lopez who had two RBIs.
