San Dimas baseball improves to 22-0 with 6-0 win over Nogales

PERFECTION CONTINUES: The San Dimas High School baseball team extended its winning streak to 22 games to start the season with a 6-0 win over Nogales on Thursday afternoon in a Valle Vista League contest. The San Gabriel Valley record for the longest winning streak to start a season is 29, set by Bishop Amat in 1993.
Pete Lambert threw his third shutout of the season for his eighth victory, striking out seven with just four hits allowed and no walks. His ERA is down to 0.26 after his sixth complete game in eight starts.
“Lambert has been great and pitched a great game today,” San Dimas head coach Mike Regan said. “Usually when they get guys on, he bears down and is tougher when there are runners on. He steps up to the occasion and gets out and the defense is really solid, which is a good combination.
“His changeup as well as his slider and curveball were good at times. He was mixing them really well. They are a good fastball-hitting team, so he was able to work in those other pitches when for a strike when he needed to, which kept them off balance.”
