Damien boys basketball coach Matt Dunn denies rumors that he is close to taking over at St. John Bosco

Damien boys basketball coach Matt Dunn, who just won a Division 3 state title and was named Division 3 coach of the year, denied rumors that he is close to taking the vacant boys basketball coaching position at St. John Bosco. Daily News contributor Jack Pollon tweeted that Dunn was rumored to be the next coach at Bosco, and Pollon is usually spot on with his contacts. I also received an email suggesting Dunn was leaving and read other tweets suggesting the same thing.
I reached Dunn this afternoon and this was his response to the rumors.
“I know that rumor is out there,” Dunn said of Bosco. “But I really don’t understand it. I honestly have not even been offered the job, let alone taken it.”
