SOUTH HILLS TAKES OVER FIRST: Junior left-hander Ryan Mauch of South Hills was looking forward mauchto a shot at redemption. He pitched against Ayala last year as a sophomore and it didn’t go well. Not only did he lose, the loss knocked his team out of first place.Well, Mauch got what he was looking for Wednesday, this time helping the Huskies to a 4-2 win over Ayala in a Palomares League battle for first place.Mauch went 5 1/3 innings, giving up four hits and striking out two. I wasn’t pleased with the command of my curve ball so I didn’t throw that many. It was the fastball and change and mixing speeds.”
