Who is the regular season MVP? Here are your top ten choices.

fink
Matt Fink, Glendora, QB: The USC recruit’s numbers aren’t eye-popping, but they’re the Palomares champs, 8-1, and have a shot at a Central Division title with the Tartans’ super all-everything QB. He has thrown for 1,018 yards and 11 TDs and rushed for 734 yards and 11 TDs.

Torreahno Sweet, Bishop Amat, RB — Despite missing a game and half for reasons nobody really knows, Sweet has been unbelievable for the Lancers, rushing for 1,156 yards and an area-leading 25 rushing touchdowns. He also has had two 5 touchdown performances. If Amat hadn’t put so many teams away early, his numbers would be even more inflated.

SweetTyler Nevens, Los Altos, RB: Has rushed for 1,458 yards and 20 touchdowns, averaging 162 yards per game. Has been incredible in past two games, rushing for 225 yards and 2 TDS against Charter Oak, and then 269 and 4 TDs in a big win over West Covina.

Steven Nava, Rosemead, QB: The area’s leading passer has the Panthers on the verge of the Mission Valley League title with 2,309 yards and 26 touchdowns.

comstockSteven Comstock, Northview, QB: The only sophomore on the list has the Vikings ranked fourth in the area and zeroing in on a Valle Vista league title. In terms of numbers, he’s got it all. He’s passed for 1,946 yards and 23 TDs, and also has rushed for 556 yards and 11 TDs.

Zion Echols, Charter Oak, All Purpose: Is there a better all-purpose threat than the lead playmaker on the Central Division’s top team? Not only has he rushed for 1,322 yards and 22 TDs, but also has 21 receptions and 4 TDs.

Dylan Thigpen, Damien, RB: Became the school’s all-time rushing leader this season, and all his yards were tough yards against very good opponents. He has 1,676 yards and 16 TDs.

Tyler Vaughns, Bishop Amat, WR: The USC-bound receiver has 59 receptions for 901 yards and 8 TDs. In their big 30-22 win over Chaminade, Vaughns had 11 receptions for 194 yards and a TD. And oh, he’s also a lockdown corner on defense.

Roy Barajas, El Monte, All Purpose: He’s been a numbers machine for the Lions, rushing for 1,917 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also has 35 receptions for 585 yards and 3 TDs.

Humberto Pantoja, Arroyo, QB: Leads the area in all-purpose yards for a Knights team playing for the Mission Valley league title Friday. Has thrown for 2,304 yards and 24 TDs and rushed for 347 yards and 9 touchdowns.
