Wednesday Recap: San Dimas and Rowland remain tied atop the Valle Vista League

Diamond Ranch 69, Walnut 60
— After claiming undefeated league titles each of the last two years, Walnut has now lost two of its first three Hacienda League contests. Meanwhile, Diamond Ranch is 3-0 in league play. Dwight Ramos tallied 31 points for the Mustangs. The Panthers were led by a trio of seniors. Ryan Haywood had 18 points and six rebounds, Roman Silva tallied 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks, and Tyler McLean notched 13 points, 8 assists, and seven boards.
Los Altos 76, Charter Oak 54 — Los Altos stayed in step with Diamond Ranch in the lead in the Hacienda League with a win over Charter Oak. Freshman Jarod Lucas had a game-high 28 points for the Conquerors. Chase Evans led Charter Oak with 21 points.
San Dimas 62, Nogales 30 — The Saints continued their perfect start in the Valle Vista League, blowing out Nogales (3-14, 0-3). San Dimas (12-6, 3-0) was led offensively by Ikenna Mbaruguru with 13 points to go along with four rebounds and four steals. Ronny Rafeh added 11 points, six rebounds,and two assists, while Andrew Sanchez had a team-high 10 assists and Donnell Leffridge tallied seven points and three steals. Nogales was led by Matt Frazier with nine points. San Dimas keeps pace with Rowland for first place in the league. The two teams will meet for the first time next Wednesday.
Rowland 59, Covina 38 — Phillip Aguiniga scored 21 points and had six rebounds for the Raiders, which defeated Covina in a Valle Vista League contest. Jonathan Hu had 17 points and Sean Nakama tallied six rebounds and five assists. Rowland is now 3-0 in the Valle Vista League heading into its contest against Wilson on Friday.
Bishop Amat 54, St. Monica 38 — James St. Louis led Bishop Amat in scoring with 19 points, while Harrison Kay added 18. Nick Allegrette led St. Monica with 13 points.

Rowland 50, Covina 38Rowland got an outstanding performance from the “Dynamic Duo” of Tianna Eaton and Farrah Castillo and knocked defending Valle Vista League champion Covina out of a first-place tie with a 50-38 win over the Colts on Wednesday night.
Walnut 58, Diamond Ranch 28-– The Mustangs stay within a game of Los Altos in the Hacienda League standings with a win over the Panthers after the Conquerors defeated Walnut last week.
Boys soccer
Damien 4, Etiwanda 0
— After not scoring a goal in their last game, the Spartans bounced back with four goals, including three by Conal Dennison. Corey Valdivia scored the other goal for Damien, which improves to 2-0-1 in the Baseline League.
