Clean sweep for Tribune in Friday’s All-Star Classic

Photo Gallery: The Tribune earned a clean sweep at Friday’s Tribune/Star News All-Star Classic. The Tribune boys fell behind briefly after blowing a 27 point lead, but came back to win 106-92 behind Damien’s Bryce Peters, the MVP with 22 points and Walnut’s Dwight Ramos with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Bonita’s Tyler Poepping won the boys 3-point conteest and the win gives the Tribune boys a 7-6 lead in the overall series. San Dimas’ Dy’mond Mitchell scored 13 points with 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the Tribune girls team to an 80-72 win over the Star-News, cutting the Star-News’ lead in the series to 7-6. Arcadia’s Kristin Shigenaga wins the girls 3 point contest

Story: There was no way Damien High School boys basketball standout Bryce Peters was going out a loser in his final game on his home court.
Peters erupted down the stretch en route to a game-high 22 points and helped the Tribune team post a 106-92 win over the Star-News in the 13th Tribune/Star-News All-Star Classic for local high school basketball seniors.
